Nicole Aldrich

Director of Chapel Music

Nicole Aldrich joined the Office of Religious Life in 2021 as Director of Chapel Music and of the Princeton University Chapel Choir, a position which merges her twin career paths of academic choral conductor and church musician. Dr. Aldrich sees the conductor’s podium as more than a place to facilitate great music-making: it is also a platform for encouraging growth, understanding, and trust among singers. Before coming to Princeton, she served for 10 years as Director of Choral Activities at Washington University in St. Louis. She has also held teaching appointments at the University of Maryland and the University of Delaware, and her work as a church musician spans multiple denominations and nearly three decades. She has prepared choruses for Helmuth Rilling, James Ross, and Paul Goodwin, has conducted honor choirs in six states, and is a frequent guest clinician and lecturer. Dr. Aldrich holds a DMA from the University of Maryland and an MM from Northwestern University.
